Model = 2

An assistant turn. Serialized to the wire role "model" (the engine may emit either "model" or "assistant" in its responses; both are normalized to this).

System = 0

A system instruction. Usually set via SystemMessage rather than as a history message; included for round-trip fidelity.

Tool = 3

A tool-results turn, carrying the outputs of executed tools (see ToolResults).

User = 1

A user turn.
